The Bluebell Railway’s  Branch Line Gala is probably their biggest gala, Giants Of Steam is a runner up. Last year GWR 813 visited the Bluebell from the Severn Valley Railway, which was popular at the Bluebell. This year we see two locomotives visiting,  O2 Class No.W24 ‘Calbourne’ and Beattie Well Tank No.30578.

Sadly SECR P Class No.323 ‘Bluebell’ has been withdrawn therefore she will not be appearing in the Branch Line Gala. Read our article here.

The Bluebell announced on Facebook today that the event will see the return to service of Bulleid composite carriage No. 5768 after an extensive overhaul. During the event the Bluebell’s Metropolitan coaches will be running.

Since No.323 ‘Bluebell’ was withdrawn the Timetable had to be revised. SECR P Class No.178 will be doing Break Van rides at Horsted Keynes from 1.10PM to 3.35PM around the station limits. The most interesting part of the timetable is the cavalcade with all for LSWR locomotives in BR Black. Locomotives W24, 30587, 30583 & 30096 will depart Sheffield Park at 4.03PM and make their way up to Horsted Keynes for 4.27PM on Friday only.

Overall it looks like a great weekend with W24 making a rare mainland appearance and the Beattie Well Tank making her first trip to the Bluebell.
